THREE CO-DEFENDANTS PLEAD GUILTY TO MURDER, OTHER CRIMES

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Chase Robison, Tarek Randolph, and Sydney Buhl pleaded guilty to multiple charges stemming from a deadly May 2022 shooting.

Robison pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, Armed Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Randolph pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Buhl pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder. With the plea agreements, each face up to life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Judge London Kite will sentence each at future hearings.

On May 15, 2022, the three executed a plan to rob a condominium on Jacksonville’s Westside. Buhl was staging a distraction as she knocked on the condo door. Video surveillance shows as she waited for someone to open the door, Robison and Randolph hid in close proximity while wearing black hoodies and masks. Someone opened the door and Buhl went inside to case the apartment; while she did, Robison and Randolph moved closer to the front door. Witnesses say as Buhl was leaving through the front door, Robison and Randolph broke in while concealed and armed. After he gained entry, Robison fired his weapon and killed the victim who had opened the door and was at the residence visiting friends. After the shooting, Robison, Randolph, and Buhl fled the scene together in a car that belonged to Robison’s mother.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney L.E. Hutton.
