State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Issac Partridge guilty of Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Shooting or Throwing Deadly Missiles. With the verdict, Partridge faces a minimum of 25 years up to life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable London Kite will sentence Partridge at a later date.

On Aug. 24, 2022, officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Interstate 95 and Phillips Highway for a shooting stemming from a road rage incident. Partridge called the police and claimed he shot the victim in self-defense while driving southbound on I-95. The victim lost control of his car after Partridge shot him multiple times which caused his car to crash into another car. The victim was driving southbound on I-95 when Partridge sped past him, swerved in front of his car, and blew smoke out of the exhaust. The victim drove back in front of Partridge’s truck. Partridge then drove past him again and started shooting at the victim. Partridge used an AR-15 style rifle to shoot 13 times into the victim’s car, striking the victim multiple times. The victim’s injuries included the loss of an eye.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Donna Thurson and Joel Cooper.
