BREED FOUND GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER, ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Deiondre Breed was found guilty by a jury of Manslaughter and Attempted Armed Robbery. The Honorable Anthony Salem sentenced Breed to 30 years in Florida State Prison during a December 9, 2022, hearing.

On Feb. 16, 2021, the victim was shot and killed in an apartment in the Arlington area. According to a female witness, a few hours before the shooting multiple people came to the victim’s apartment and said they would return later. The witness identified Breed as one of the people present. A male witness was with the victim at the time of the shooting — he said the victim opened the door to the residence and exchanged words with someone before being shot multiple times. The male witness was able to identify Breed’s co-defendant and give a description of Breed. Further investigation confirmed Breed’s location at the time of the crime and the changes he made to his appearance in the days after the murder.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Korey Milo and Brooke Gasson.
