State Recommends Life in Prison in ‘Blind Rabbit’ Murder Agreement

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces today that Erron Markese Coleman, 26, of Jacksonville, pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder and Armed Robbery. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Coleman faces 35 years to Life in Florida State Prison. The State has recommended Life in Florida State Prison without the possibility of parole. Scheduling for a sentencing hearing before the Honorable Mark Borello will be September 25.

Coleman admitted participation in the murder of Daniel Rowe, an employee of the Blind Rabbit restaurant who was shot and killed July 22, 2015. As part of his agreement, Coleman will testify truthfully in any future proceeding surrounding the facts and circumstances surrounding Rowe’s murder.

“Through this plea, we intend to seek a sentence that keeps Erron Coleman off our streets for the rest of his life,” said State Attorney Melissa Nelson. “The plea and his admissions about the crime will ensure that all involved in the tragic murder of Daniel Rowe will be held accountable.”

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Alan Seth Mizrahi and Chief Assistant State Attorney L.E. Hutton.
