State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Latonya Louise Folson and Kirk Ian Jackson were found guilty by a jury of Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine (400 grams or more). Both Folson and Jackson now face a maximum of 30 years each in Florida State Prison. A sentencing hearing is scheduled to be set by the Honorable Angela M. Cox the week of Oct. 1, 2018.

Folson and Jackson were identified as members of an organization that transports and distributes cocaine to the Jacksonville area. The organization’s actions include the actual sale, possession, transportation, delivery and/or storage of controlled substances. A long-term investigation led to their arrests and the execution of search warrants that uncovered a large amount of cash and 26 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of over $1 million.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Richard Giglio and Joe Licandro.
