After nearly two years of dedicated work, the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee on Thursday presented State Attorney Melissa Nelson with its findings and recommendations.

Nelson tasked the independent 23-member group of juvenile justice and community stakeholders in September 2017 to review the State Attorney’s Office juvenile diversion programs, look across the country to find best practices, and make recommendations to her and the office on prospective programming.

The committee and subcommittees met more than two dozen times for their mission, hearing from speakers and researching on their own to create the 40-page report presented to the office. More information about the work can be found at the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee dedicated web page.
