Gore Found Guilty of Burglary, Resisting Officer Without Violence

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Adrian Gore Jr., of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury of Burglary to an Occupied Dwelling and Resisting an Officer Without Violence. Gore now faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison after also being found in violation of his community control for a 2018 Burglary. The Honorable Adrian Soud will sentence Gore during a hearing the week of June 21, 2021.

Just after noon on Aug. 26, 2020, members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a warrant on Gore in the vicinity of San Juan and Hyde Park roads on Jacksonville’s Westside. Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were surveilling Gore’s vehicle when he ran a red light. A marked patrol car initiated a traffic stop on Belfort Street, which caused Gore to abandon the car and flee on foot, leaving two minors in the car. The minors identified the driver as Gore, who proceeded to break into a home on Woodlawn Street. The resident provided a description of Gore and officers observed him through the front window of the home. With Gore’s identity confirmed, officers searched the home and found Gore hiding inside a wall before he was arrested.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Chris Huband and Katie Borello.
