Raysor Found Guilty of Illegally Possessing Firearm in 2018 Video

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Maayaki Raysor, of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Raysor now faces up to 15 years in Florida State Prison. He will be sentenced by the Honorable Jeb Branham during a Nov. 8, 2021, hearing.

On Dec. 28, 2018, Raysor was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for a drug charge. While in custody, it was determined Raysor needed to be questioned in reference to a murder investigation. After advising Raysor of his Miranda rights, officers questioned Raysor about the murder investigation and a music video he posted on his Facebook page of which law enforcement was made aware of in June 2018. Raysor told officers when and where the music video was recorded. Raysor also confirmed the guns in the music video were real, but that they belonged to a family member and were registered. Raysor possessed the guns in the video, but unlawfully did so due to a 2010 felony conviction. Raysor was arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Chris Huband and Leah Owens.
