State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces the return by a Duval County grand jury today of indictments charging two defendants with First-Degree Murder.

The grand jury returned First-Degree Murder charges for:

• Gene Thomas, S.A. No. 21CF033593. Thomas was indicted on two counts of First-Degree Murder. He faces additional charges of two counts of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Korey Milo.


• Mack Johnson, S.A. No. 21CF001994. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Christina Stifler.
