State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Daniel Wyche guilty of Trafficking Fentanyl, Resisting an Officer without Violence, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of more than Twenty Grams of Cannabis, Escape, and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer. Wyche is facing up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable London Kite will sentence Wyche during the week of June 5.

On May 25, 2022, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Tact Team was executing a search warrant on Redmond Avenue. Wyche was in a car outside the residence of interest when JSO arrived. He was placed in the back of a patrol car. An officer heard Wyche making movements in the patrol car. The officer opened the door and Wyche, having removed the handcuffs from one hand, swung at the officer and pushed him backwards. Wyche then ran from the officers. Officers took him to the ground, but Wyche continued to resist and tried to reach for an officer’s firearm. He was eventually detained.

During the search of Wyche’s home and vehicles, officers found marijuana, fentanyl, and crack cocaine.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Lauren Randall and Jalisa Curtis.
