On Oct. 23, 2021, an officer with Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for shots fired at Mordecai Court on the Westside. As the officer arrived on scene, the victim was in the front yard crying. Rollins — the victim’s ex-boyfriend — came by the home and aggressively grabbed the victim. Rollins took out a firearm from his waistband and fired one shot into the ground. Video from a security camera captured the incident. The victim told the officer that she dated Rollins, and they recently broke up Rollins fired the shot to intimidate her. Rollins is a previously convicted felon and is not legally allowed to possess a firearm.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Jalisa Curtis and Lee Wingard Jr.
