State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Brandon Ricketson guilty of Sexual Battery. With the verdict, Ricketson faces up to life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable London Kite will sentence Ricketson at a later date.

Just after 8 p.m. July 15, 2021, a woman reported a sexual assault along Timuquana Road. A man, later identified as Ricketson, offered the victim a ride. When the victim got into the vehicle, Ricketson pulled into a vacant lot and pulled out a silver revolver and committed a sexual assault. The victim collected evidence and gave it to members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

In September 2021, several additional sexual assaults were identified in the same area.  The suspect — also identified as Ricketson — matched the same description in appearance, drove the same vehicle, and used the similar tactics to lure and sexually assault the victims.

The victim from the July 15th assault and subsequent victims all identified Ricketson from a photo spread.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Khary Gaynor and Catie Messinger.
