State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Clay County jury found Bryan Harvey guilty of Trafficking in Fentanyl and Trafficking in Methamphetamine. With the verdict, Harvey faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Steven Whittington will sentence Harvey at a later date.

On Jan. 23, 2025, detectives with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office conducted surveillance in Middleburg when they saw the driver of an SUV fail to stop at a stop sign. They pulled over the vehicle; Harvey was in the front passenger seat and had an active arrest warrant. The detectives detained him, and as Harvey was getting out of the SUV, the detective saw a bag with pills on his seat and another bag with a crystal-like substance in the front passenger floorboard. The officers used their K9s to sniff the vehicle, and the K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics. The detective conducted an additional search of the vehicle and found a cigarette pack between the front passenger seat and the console where Harvey was seated; narcotics were located inside.

The case was investigated by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Richard Natto Jr. and Brandi Moravek.
