State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Darrell Telfair guilty of Burglary (Dwelling). With the verdict, Telfair faces up to five years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Tatiana Salvador will sentence Telfair at a later date.

Around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 30, 2025, officers responded to a burglary on Crestview Road. The 62-year-old victim reported a stolen television and mini fridge among other items; she had just closed on the home and received the keys two days prior. A witness saw the suspect drive off in a white Ford Escape and provided the tag number to the police. A few hours later, a sergeant spotted the vehicle on 103rd Street and made a traffic stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody. The victim’s stolen property was found inside the SUV.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Kevin Pollack and Rachel Allison.
