State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Charles Lang III guilty of Trafficking in Hydrocodone or its Derivatives; Trafficking in Fentanyl; Trafficking in Methamphetamine; Trafficking in Oxycodone or its Derivatives; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. With the verdict, Lang faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Anthony Salem will sentence Lang at a later date.

Officers responded to a criminal mischief call to a Lackawanna home around 2:45 a.m. During the investigation, officers observed firearms and drugs in plain sight. Lang identified himself and told officers he lived at the home and claimed ownership of the items inside the home. Officers obtained a search warrant and recovered a trafficking amount of codeine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone as well as firearms and ammunition. Beakers, whisks, and pans with drug residue were taken as evidence from the kitchen.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Andrew Szatkowski and Fallon Hinkley.
