State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Benjamin Parsons was found guilty by a jury of Aggravated Stalking, Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device, and Violation of Injunction Against Stalking. With the verdict, Parsons faces up to 10 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable L.E. Hutton will sentence Parsons at a later date.
On December 28, 2022, Parsons entered a San Jose Boulevard clothing business and asked an employee – a minor - for coffee. Once declined, this began a two-year streak of Parsons continually calling the business, leaving voicemails addressed to the victim, and ultimately showing up to her home uninvited. The victim pursued an injunction for protection against stalking against Parsons. This was put in place to prevent him from coming within 500 feet of her employment at the clothing business.
On December 27, 2024, police were called to that same San Jose Boulevard clothing business in reference to Parsons being in violation of that injunction. When they arrived, Parsons was within that limit and sitting in a way that gave him view of when the victim left the business. Parsons was questioned and denied he contacted the victim. He later admitted to being within 500 feet of the business and was arrested.
The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Kierstyn Jennings and Joy Whitmore.
