Annual Leave

  • Employees earn accrued paid time off for vacation and personal use based on their number of years of service with the State of Florida. Accruals are earned each month.  

    • 0 to 2 years earn 8 hours and 40 minutes (13 days per year)
    • 3 years earn 10 hours (15 days per year)
    • 4 to 9 years earn 13 hours and 20 minutes (20 days per year)
    • 10-plus years earn 16 hours and 40 minutes (25 days per year)

Sick Leave

  • Employees earn accrued paid time off for illness and doctor appointments, or illness and injury of an immediate family member.
  • Each month, the employee earns 8 hours and 40 minutes of sick leave.

Retirement

Florida Retirement System (FRS)

FRS Pension Plan

You receive a set, monthly benefit based on your age at retirement, salary, position, and how long you worked for the FRS.
Contribution is 3% of your gross salary.

FRS Investment Plan

You receive the balance of your investment account; based on how well the plan performed.
Contribution is 3% of your gross salary.
