NASSAU COUNTY JURY FINDS FREEMAN GUILTY OF TRAFFICKING METH

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Joshua Freeman was found guilty by a Nassau County jury of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. With the verdict, Freeman faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Jim Daniel will sentence Freeman at a future hearing.

During the week of April 25, 2022, the Nassau County Narcotics Unit conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Freeman. The purchaser was equipped with audio and video devices, which captured the sale. Freeman was arrested and denied selling the drugs until he met with detectives who showed him a still shot from the video — Freeman then acknowledged he was caught but did not explicitly admit to selling the drugs. The drugs tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed 17 grams.

The case was investigated by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Joel Powell and Karl Green.
