State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Lowell Sloan Erlandson, of Baldwin, was found guilty by a jury of two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation. Erlandson now faces a maximum of life in Florida State Prison. A sentencing hearing before the Honorable Mark Borello will be scheduled Aug. 12, 2019.

On April 8, 2018, Erlandson lured a female minor into his trailer by offering her a bell. Once Erlandson had the child in his trailer, he touched the child’s buttocks and genitals over her clothes in a sexual manner and attempted to kiss her on the mouth.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Alex Weaver and Tonya-Patterson Barge.
