State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Kyle Allen Loffer, of Clay County, was found guilty by a jury of Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. Loffer now faces a maximum of 15 years in Florida State Prison. A sentencing hearing is scheduled before the Honorable Don Lester on September 13, 2021.

On July 5, 2020, Loffer was pulled over and arrested during a traffic stop. During an inventory search of the vehicle prior to towing, rifle ammunition was found in the vehicle’s center console. Loffer was advised of his rights and admitted to knowing that the ammunition was in the car. Loffer, a previously convicted felon, was ineligible to possess ammunition.

The case was investigated by Clay County Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Jamie Cona and Johnna Lessard.
