State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Reginald Williams guilty of Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Tampering with a Witness, Victim, or Informant. With the verdict, Williams faces up to life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Mark Borello will sentence Williams at a later date.

On April 21, 2025, Williams approached the victim in a white SUV with a friend in the passenger seat. Williams and the friend invited the victim to hang out with them, and the victim—who believed he knew the passenger—got into the back seat. They went to a store and then left in the same white SUV. Shortly after, Williams pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his shoes and cash, and the victim handed over his belongings. Williams posted a photo on social media two days later wearing the victim’s shoes. On the week of trial, Williams sent the victim a threatening message regarding the victim’s testimony. Williams is a previously convicted felon and is not legally allowed to possess a firearm.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Loana Nardoni and Raquel Stokes.
