State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Marc Crump has pleaded guilty to Election False Registration/False Swearing and Election Fraud Voting. Pursuant to the plea agreement, Crump will be adjudicated guilty and is expected to be sentenced to 10 months in Duval County jail. The Honorable London Kite will impose sentence at a Jan. 4, 2023, hearing.
The Duval County Supervisor of Elections referred this matter to the State Attorney’s Office in March 2022. Crump is a multi-time convicted felon who affirmed otherwise when he registered to vote, then cast ballots in the primary and general elections of 2020. Given that Crump knowingly deceived the election process to register and vote, he was arrested in late April 2022.
“Election fraud undermines one of the fundamental tenets of our democracy. We will continue to hold accountable those who knowingly seek to manipulate our election process,” said State Attorney Melissa Nelson.
The case was investigated by the State Attorney’s Office and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, and is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Adam Duso.
