State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Christian Rollins guilty of Armed Burglary to a Dwelling with Battery. The Honorable Judge Anthony Salem, during a May 19, 2023, hearing, sentenced Rollins to 12 years in Florida State Prison.

During the morning hours of Feb. 7, 2022, Rollins went to the victim’s home in west Jacksonville. He entered the home without permission. Rollins threatened to kill the victim and another person in the home, who would later become a witness. He then grabbed a knife and headed toward the room where the witness was sleeping. The victim stopped Rollins from entering the room and a struggle ensued. Rollins cut the victim’s hand and struck the victim’s face. The victim then grabbed a lamp and smashed it over Rollins’ head. The victim was able to push him out the door and lock it. Rollins proceeded to break windows and the front door frame. The police were called by the witness and Rollins ran away before officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Stephen Daniels.
