State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Ricky Dove was found guilty by a jury of Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession with Intent to Sell Cocaine, and Possession with Intent to Sell Hydrocodone. With the verdict, Dove faces up to life in Florida State Prison if sentenced as a Habitual Offender. The Honorable Mark Borello will sentence Dove during a hearing to be set the week of Feb. 27, 2023.

Between May-July 2022, Dove sold fentanyl and other narcotics to undercover detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office numerous times from a Youngerman Circle motel. Detectives executed a search warrant on Dove’s room resulting in large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, and hydrocodone along with numerous paraphernalia — all evidence of a sales operation. Dove was arrested by officers during the execution of the search warrant.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Corie Posey and Trey Atkinson.
