State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Amber Kaliontgis guilty of four counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Shooting or Throwing Deadly Missiles. With the verdict, Kaliontgis faces up to 125 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Jonathan Sacks will sentence Kaliontgis at a later date.

On March 19, 2022, Kaliontgis was drinking with four others at a house on Rayford Street. During the night, Kaliontgis and one of the victims got into a verbal argument. Around 5:30 a.m., Kaliontgis threatened the victims saying she was going to get her “45” and left the house. Kaliontgis returned a short while later and fired multiple rounds into the home. The four people inside hurried to the ground and fled to the back of the home until the shooting stopped. A bullet went through the living room window where all four occupants were at the time. When the shooting ended, a victim opened the front door and witnessed Kaliontgis fleeing from the scene.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Marcus Isom Jr. and Brittany Johnson.
