State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury has found Michael Keegan guilty of Capital Sexual Battery, Lewd or Lascivious Molestation, Battery, and two counts of Showing Obscene Materials to Minor. With the verdict, Keegan will be sentenced to mandatory life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Judge Tatiana Salvador will formally sentence Keegan on Sept. 22, 2023.

On April 28, 2022, officers with Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on Parental Home Road for reports of a lewd act upon a child. The father of the victims told police that Keegan molested his two children. The victims were taken to the Office of the Child Protection Team to provide separate recorded statements. One victim stated that Keegan had touched her for two years either in his vehicle or at their home. The victim stated Keegan made her watch pornographic videos. The second victim told police she witnessed Keegan touching the other victim on their way to school. The second victim also stated Keegan showed her pornographic videos.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Anna Hixon and Melissa Coll.
