State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Keith Milton guilty of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Officer Without Violence to His or Her Person, and Possession of Less Than 20 Grams of Cannabis. With the verdict, Milton faces up to five years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable London Kite will sentence Milton at a later date.

On Sept. 13, 2022, officers with Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotic Unit Tact Team were conducting a citywide drug bust operation. An undercover officer conducted a conversation with a man outside of a convenience store on 103rd Street who said he could get the undercover officer crack cocaine. An undercover officer gave the man $20 and then witnessed the man walk up to Milton, who was in a vehicle, and retrieve the drugs. The man then delivered the drugs to the undercover officer. A takedown was initiated, and officers arrested Milton after he refused to exit his vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers also found a bag with marijuana.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Crystal Ganpath-Freed and Jalisa Curtis.
