State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces her nomination of Robyn Blank to the Jacksonville Ethics Commission, replacing Darcy Galnor whose term expires at the end of the year.
“Robyn is a perfect fit for this important role and has an outstanding background in the field of ethics. She will be an asset to the City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Ethics Commission, following the great work of Darcy Galnor,” said State Attorney Melissa Nelson.
City Council must confirm Blank to the role. Legislation was filed with the city Nov. 14, 2023.
Blank is the Associate Vice President and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer at the University of North Florida, a position she has held since February 2023. Blank oversees all aspects of compliance and ethics functions for the university. Prior to joining UNF, she served in a similar position at Florida State University. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2006. In January of this year, Blank became a certified compliance and ethics professional through the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
“Robyn has an impressive career in public service here in Florida, both as an attorney and as a respected ethics and compliance adviser,” said UNF President Moez Limayem. “She is a trusted leader at UNF and will be a strong addition to the Jacksonville Ethics Commission.”
Galnor is Nelson’s previous appointment to the commission, whose term expires Dec. 31, 2023, after two successful terms. She is a board-certified criminal trial lawyer and principal of Galnor Shumard.
The State Attorney’s Office is charged with appointing a member to the nine-person commission tasked with conducting a forum for discussion and investigation of ethics issues in Jacksonville. You can find more information about the commission here.
