State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Christion Wynn pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Battery prior to a jury trial. Per the negotiated plea, Wynn faces up to 20 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable London Kite will sentence Wynn at a later date.

On July 12, 2022, Wynn approached a woman on University Boulevard West who was sitting outside a bank. Wynn talked with the victim for a while then followed her as she got up to go to a local convenience store. The two walked back to the bank and talked some more. Wynn then slapped the victim in the face, choked her, and dragged her behind an alleyway. Surveillance cameras show him grabbing the victim by the neck and shoulder area and dragging her. Wynn forced the victim to perform a sex act against her will. He then ran from the scene. Using surveillance footage, investigators with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office put out a “Be On The Lookout” social media post, and another officer recognized Wynn as an employee at a local gym he goes to every morning. Wynn’s manager was able to confirm his identity, which led to Wynn’s arrest nearly two months after his violent attack.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Kate Bedell and Cate Waugh.
