State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found William Scott Lindsey guilty of Sale or Delivery of Cocaine. With the verdict, Lindsey faces up to 15 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Jeb Branham will sentence Lindsey at a later date.
On Feb. 22, 2026, an undercover detective met with Lindsey, who goes by “Scottie” on the streets. Lindsey agreed to sell “hard” to the undercover detective. Lindsey got into the undercover officer’s car to get the narcotics. Two more undercover detectives were in the car as well. Lindsey directed the undercover officers to an apartment complex in the greater Arlington area. They gave Lindsey $20, and Lindsey got out of the car and walked to get the narcotics. Lindsey returned with cocaine and handed it to the detective.
The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Jack Jolly and Ross Wade.
