State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Austin Fisher has pleaded guilty to three counts of Second-Degree Murder and one count of Armed Robbery for the May 2026 stabbing deaths of three individuals on Jacksonville’s Westside. Per the terms of the negotiated plea, Fisher was sentenced by the Honorable Tatiana Salvador to four life sentences in Florida State Prison without the possibility of parole. Fisher pleaded guilty and was sentenced at his arraignment hearing June 23, 2026.

Just before 4 a.m. May 28, 2026, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an Exodus Way home after someone was stabbed. When they arrived, they found one victim bloodied on the front porch of a neighbor’s home; that victim died at the hospital a short time later. Soon after, they found a second victim dead on the front porch of the subject home — a safety and welfare check uncovered a third victim inside the home. Each victim had been stabbed multiple times.

During the investigation, JSO received numerous phone calls from various individuals who said Fisher admitted he stabbed the victims. The first was a rideshare driver Fisher had ordered — he gave the driver details of the stabbing and altercation. Another witness told law enforcement Fisher called him, admitted to the stabbings, and was going to his mother’s house to turn himself in. A third witness told law enforcement Fisher arrived at her hotel room and admitted he stole money and drugs from the victims after he stabbed them; another witness at the hotel said Fisher admitted to the crime and made incriminating statements.

Fisher was apprehended at the hotel a short time later and, post-Miranda, admitted to stabbing each of the three victims.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Doug Baer.
