Horne Found Guilty of Trafficking Meth, Possessing Fentanyl

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Damar Horne guilty of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia, and Trespass to a Structure/Conveyance. With the verdict, Horne faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Tatiana Salvador will sentence Horne at a later date.

On the morning of July 2, 2025, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Westside apartment complex about a man who had trespassed in an empty apartment. When officers entered the apartment, they found Horne on a stool at a kitchen sink with several clear plastic baggies containing drugs. A scale and tin foil were found on the counter next to Horne, who was also holding a straw. The drugs tested positive for methamphetamine, fentanyl, and crack cocaine.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Rachel Duckworth and Rachel Allison.
