State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Trevor Britt pleaded guilty to Burglary of a Structure/Conveyance and Criminal Mischief with Hate Crime Enhancement. Per the negotiated plea, the Honorable Jeb Branham sentenced Britt to 97 days in Duval County Jail and two years probations with conditions including 50 hours of community service, mental health evaluation, and racial sensitivity training.

On May 23, 2026, Britt broke into a closed abandoned elementary school in the Brentwood area and spraypainted swastikas and racial slurs on the walls. Britt also spraypainted his nickname and his girlfriend’s nickname on the wall. He gave officers consent to search his SUV, and officers found two cans of spray paint.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Joe Licandro.
