State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Isaiah Washington guilty of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. After the verdict, the Honorable Anthony Salem sentenced Washington to 6 years in Florida State Prison.

On Dec. 13, 2025, Washington was living in a shed in the backyard of his ex’s house. Around 7:30 p.m., officers were called when Washington climbed through one of her windows and chased her around the house threatening to shoot and kill her. Washington then punched his ex. Officers arrived on scene, and witnesses pointed to where Washington was standing outside the house. Officers instructed Washinton to walk towards them, but Washington said no and ran. Officers chased him down and arrested him. They a silver handgun from his pocket. Washington has a previous felony conviction and is not legally allowed to have a firearm.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Fallon Hinkley and Trinity Turinetti.
