If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Always hire a licensed professional to do your home repairs and improvements — and ask to see their license beforehand.

Check with the Better Business Bureau concerning the companies you are planning on hiring.

Those pieces of advice were a sampling of the information attorneys and staff of the Office of the State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit offered to seniors and attendees of the Jacksonville Area Annual Senior Expo on May 17-18 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. The office regularly participates in community events as a way to educate the public about safety tips and inform about news, events, and initiatives that could benefit their communities.

Check back for more events and opportunities in the months to come.
