State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Sanqaun Bradford guilty of Armed Robbery and two counts of Resisting an Officer Without Violence. Following the verdict, he also pleaded guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. With the outcome, Bradford faces mandatory life in Florida State Prison under the Prison Releasee Reoffender designation. The Honorable Tatiana Salvador will sentence Bradford at a later date.

On March 20, 2025, the Community Problem Response Unit of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office conducted surveillance at a Cleveland Road convenience store not far from where a shooting took place the prior night. Bradford, wearing all black with a mask concealing his face, was with a co-defendant loitering in front of the store. Detectives saw Bradford concealing something they suspected was a long gun. An hour later, the victim walked toward the store and Bradford and the co-defendant pushed him against an SUV. Bradford pulled out a rifle. They beat up the victim and robbed him. When marked patrol vehicles arrived, Bradford ran but was caught a short time later. Officers found the rifle—a mini-Draco—near where Bradford was arrested. Bradford is a convicted felon who is not legally allowed to possess a firearm and was on probation for a previous crime.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Brittany Johnson and Marisa Materazzi.
