Furthering a commitment toward greater accessibility and transparency for the public, State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces the office has partnered with GovQA to establish a new and improved online public records portal.
GovQA (govqa.com) is an industry leader in public sector compliance and assists city, county, state, public safety, and education agencies in a variety of ways. The company has created a dedicated State Attorney’s Office public records hub. This portal offers multiple improved features, such the ability for citizens and media members to submit inquiries, create personalized records centers, see archives and trending topics, and view status updates.

“Among our highest priorities is to enhance the trust of the public and increase accessibility for all who interact with this office,” said State Attorney Melissa Nelson. “This improvement demonstrates these goals.”
This advancement comes on the heels of several other public-facing improvements Nelson and the office has recently established.
Over the summer, Nelson appointed Miriam Nelson as the office’s records custodian and head of the Public Records Division. Since that time, the division has doubled efficiency and output, shortened timeframes for outstanding requests, and improved customer service. Additionally, the office also became the first prosecutor’s office in Florida to accept credit cards as a form of payment for public records, discovery, and diversion programs.
