State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Breon Anthony Hollings, 24, of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury of Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault. Hollings now faces a maximum of life in Florida State Prison as a Habitual Offender. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled by the Honorable Bruce Anderson Jr. on Sept. 23, 2019.

Hollings arranged a meeting with Eric Shay White on Amazon Avenue around 3 a.m. April 20, 2017. With three co-conspirators, Hollings ambushed White and his girlfriend in their vehicle. Fifteen shots were fired as White and his girlfriend drove down Amazon Avenue in an attempt to flee Hollings and his accomplices. One bullet struck White and killed him.

The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and is being prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Lara Zaroulis Mattina and LaTesha Campbell.
