State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Curtis Anthony Fields, Jr., was found guilty by a jury of Grand Theft Auto. Fields was sentenced after trial by the Honorable Mark Borello to two years in Florida State Prison.

On Jan. 9, 2019, Fields entered a Dunn Avenue medical business and took the keys of Raechel McKelvy after she accidentally left them on a counter. Fields stole McKelvy’s vehicle and was found driving the vehicle two days later.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Karri Becker and Christopher Bateh.
