Jury Finds Crowley Guilty Illegally Possessing Firearms, Ammunition

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Channing Crowley, of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury on two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. Crowley now faces up to 30 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Anthony Salem will sentence Crowley in a future hearing.

In the evening hours of July 27, 2019, Crowley was contacted by law enforcement during an active investigation and interviewed, at which time he said he was on Facebook Live about the time of the crime. He provided his vanity Facebook name to law enforcement and said he was flashing money to viewers. Upon review of the video, officers observed Crowley telling people to “pull up” and possess firearms and ammunition. An investigation into the video by a State firearms expert confirmed the weapons — two Glock handguns and 7.62 mm caliber ammunition — were genuine. It was illegal for Crowley, a convicted felon, to possess firearms or ammunition.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Lauren Anderson and Leah Owens.
