Man Found Guilty of Robbing Food Truck in Murray Hill

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Rex Clifton Page II of Jacksonville, was found guilty by a jury of Armed Robbery. As a Prison Releasee Reoffender, Page now faces a minimum of 30 years and maximum of life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Mark Borello will sentence Page during a hearing the week of Sept. 20, 2021.

On April 20, 2020, a food truck owner operating in Murray Hill approached a patrol member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office to notify them that their business was just robbed. The food truck owner described the suspect as wearing a hoodie and red bandana, and said he last saw him walking down Post Street. The officer returned to the scene after unsuccessfully locating the suspect. As the victim was headed back to the scene, he saw who he believed was the suspect, walking down the sidewalk about two blocks away. The person he identified was Page, who was wearing the same pants and boots as the suspect, was the same build, and walked with the same gait. When police detained Page, he spoke loudly enough that the witnesses and victim could identify him as the person who robbed the food truck. Page was found to have nearly $300 in cash — the amount stolen from the food truck — a small amount of marijuana, and a large folding knife on him. He was arrested.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Jackie Blair and Brittany Johnson.
