State Attorney Melissa Nelson today announces that the Honorable Anthony Salem sentenced Jerrontra Donshae White, of Jacksonville, to 32 years in Florida State Prison for Second-Degree Murder, Aggravated Child Abuse, and Child Neglect.
White entered a guilty plea Jan. 22, 2021.
On Nov. 8, 2019, White inflicted head trauma upon an infant that caused the child to experience a brain injury and swelling. White did not immediately seek medical treatment for the child and, several days after languishing, the child died from the injuries. After several interviews by law enforcement, White admitted he was responsible for the injuries that caused the infant’s death.
The case was investigated by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Lara Zaroulis Mattina.
