State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Billy Quiett Jr. guilty of Burglary to a Structure or Conveyance. With the verdict, Quiett faces up to 10 years in Florida State Prison as a Habitual Felony Offender. The Honorable Jonathan Sacks will sentence Quiett on a future date.

Around 1:45 a.m. June 22, 2022, surveillance cameras captured Quiett and a female inside a business on San Jose Boulevard after the two entered by cutting a hole in the fence. Quiett and the female stole air conditioning units, pressure washers, and tools. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office published a press release with a still image of the suspects inside the business from the surveillance footage. A tip was submitted to CrimeStoppers that identified Quiett as the man in the video.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Stephanie Burke and Korey Milo.
