State Attorney Melissa Nelson is proud to announce the successful launch of the office’s enhanced victim notification pilot program, becoming just the second prosecutor’s office in the United States to utilize this innovative Versaterm SPIDR Tech system.

“Constantly improving our victim services is a top priority for our office,” said State Attorney Melissa Nelson. “This program uses innovative technology to enhance how we communicate with victims.”

Thanks to the Florida Legislature, Nelson said, state funding was allocated to the office to competitively procure the pilot program. SPIDR Tech was selected in mid-2023 and the pilot program officially launched in mid-February 2024.

SPIDR Tech amplifies the office’s victim communication efforts. It includes real-time text and email updates to victims for court dates and other important hearing dates, along with automated status
and investigatory updates.

“This natural extension of our community engagement solution underscores Versaterm’s commitment to empowering public safety professionals, aligning well with our mission to serve the community with compassion and efficiency,” said Scott Tomlin, SPIDR Tech general manager.
