Antonio Williams Pleads Guilty to Murder, Sentenced to 45 Years

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Antonio William pleaded guilty to Second-Degree Murder and was sentenced by the Honorable Tatiana Salvador to 45 years in Florida State Prison with a minimum mandatory 25 years. The negotiated plea and sentencing took place during an Aug. 27, 2026, hearing.

Just after 7 a.m. Dec. 13, 2022, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a Youngerman Circle motel in reference to a shooting in the parking lot. When they arrived, they found a male victim dead from a gunshot wound. Motel surveillance captured the incident. It showed Williams exit a room with two others and hide behind a parked car in the parking lot. A short time later, the victim exits the room and walks toward a parked car before Williams approaches him, pulls out a handgun, and shoots him once. Williams then walked away toward Blanding Boulevard; he was arrested a short time later. Witness statements further confirmed Williams was the shooter.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Chyna Makarowski and First Assistant Jay Plotkin.
