State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Clay County jury found Michael Dukes guilty of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. With the verdict, Dukes faces up to 15 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Steven Whittington will sentence Dukes at a later date.

On Dec. 5, 2024, the victim disclosed to her teacher at school that she was molested by Dukes for years starting when she was around 12 years old. The teacher reported the abuse, and the Green Cove Springs Police Department began their investigation. During a Child Protective Team investigation, the child detailed the abuse by Dukes over years.

The case was investigated by the Green Cove Springs Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Todd Conklin and Cara Devlin.
