State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Carey Chisholm Jr. guilty of Sale, Manufacture, or Deliver a Controlled Substance. Following the verdict, the Honorable Anthony Salem sentenced Chisholm to seven years in Florida State Prison.

On May 22, 2026, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit were conducting undercover drug busts. An undercover officer spoke with a man on Moncrief Road and asked to buy “Flakka,” a nickname for a common street drug. That man agreed and rode his bike across the street to contact Chisholm. Chisholm and the man returned to the undercover officer and handed him the drugs. JSO arrested both men and sent the drugs for testing. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab identified the drugs as substituted cathinones, a controlled substance pursuant to Florida Statutes.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Kierstyn Jennings and Trinity Turinetti.
