JURY FINDS JOHNSON GUILTY OF POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL MARIJUANA

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Jeremiah Johnson guilty of Possession with Intent to Sell Cannabis and Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia. With the verdict, Johnson faces up to 5 years in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Jonathan Sacks will sentence Johnson at a later date.

On Jan. 11, 2024, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Tact Team served a search warrant on a home on Harrison Street near Downtown Jacksonville. Officers found Johnson behind the front door of the home and took him into custody. Officers performed their search and found large bags of marijuana, vacuum sealed bags of marijuana, a digital scale, a marijuana grinder, and baggies. A total of 13.4 pounds of marijuana was discovered at the home. Johnson admitted to the police that the marijuana was his and told officers he sells cannabis from the home.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Carleshia Jimerson and Stephanie Burke.
