MCMILLON FOUND GUILTY OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER OF FELLOW GANG MEMBER
State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that Michael McMillon was found guilty by a jury of First-Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder. The Honorable Adrian Soud sentenced McMillon to life in Florida State Prison during an August 31, 2022, hearing.
At 3 a.m. Dec. 19, 2016, a known member of the Neighborhood Rolling 20’s was found dead with multiple gunshots on the side of a Westside road. The investigation revealed members of the gang believed the victim had violated several gang rules and directives and fellow gang members wanted him killed. The plan carried out involved McMillon and several other gang members killing the victim after a Dec. 18, 2016, gang meeting at a Westside park. McMillon and the other gang members took the victim to a wooded area and McMillon shot the victim while he was on his knees, execution style. Further investigation took place over the next several months after other arrests and confirmed details of the killing.
The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Leah Owens and Trey Atkinson.
