DUVAL COUNTY JURY FINDS WILLIAMS GUILTY OF MURDER

State Attorney Melissa Nelson announces that a Duval County jury found Andy Williams guilty of Second-Degree Murder. Williams qualifies as a Prison Release Reoffender; with the verdict and prior record, Williams now faces a sentence of mandatory life in Florida State Prison. The Honorable Mark Borello will sentence Williams during the week of June 20, 2023.

On Sept. 18, 2021, Williams alerted police at a neighboring business that shots were fired at the motel on Youngerman Circle. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to one of the rooms and discovered the victim deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Over the course of the investigation, including witness interviews and physical evidence, detectives discovered that it was, in fact, Williams who pulled the trigger and shot the victim, following a verbal dispute.

The case was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys Christina Stifler and Joe Licandro.
